Position: Part-time crew member for the DumpBusters program; occasional evening and significant weekend work expected
Hours: 10-15 hrs/week
Pay: starting at $15/hr
Direct Supervisor: Erica Pasquali, Land-based Project Coordinator/Crew Leader
Program Description: DumpBusters is a program comprised of small crews of volunteers (1-5 people) that each work an average of 3 days/week, 11-12 months a year (can take February off). The crew(s) focus primarily on cleaning up small dumps that are easily eliminated by a small group, but also provide expertise to communities wanting to clean up difficult sites, assist in large events by doing prep work and/or returning to sites to finish jobs, and are "on call" to respond to new dumping incidents.
Duties:
Qualifications/Skills: A clean driving record and the ability (or willingness to learn) to drive and operate a F-550 dump truck throughout Pittsburgh in all types of weather and the willingness/ability to work outside in all types of weather and various terrain are imperative. Must be able to work cooperatively; to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently; and to direct/assist the safe lifting of heavy items. Must be able to provide own transportation to the Allegheny CleanWays office.
Preferred Skills: Prior clean-up and/or outdoor work experience; CPR and First Aid training; basic computer skills - able to Excel, Outlook, and ACW database; ability to operate power tools and large and small equipment are desirable skills, but not required.

- Assist crew leader in assessing, cleaning up, and monitoring illegal dump sites in Pittsburgh and surrounding communities.
- Act as liaison between residents and Allegheny CleanWays
- Coordinate with crew leader in scheduling assessment and cleanup activities.
- Help to promote the DumpBusters program and to recruit volunteers for it.
- Assist in training DumpBusters volunteers how to safely and efficiently remove illegally
dumped debris. - Serve as a crew member in large dumpsite cleanups sponsored by Allegheny CleanWays
and/or community stewards. - Represent Allegheny CleanWays in the community by upholding our values, integrity and
reputation. - Attend outreach activities and/or meetings as necessary.
