Litter Cleanups
Allegheny CleanWays & Friends of the Riverfront are making and distributing kits for individuals to conduct their own litter cleanups!
Join the Litter League The 2022 Litter League invites teams of neighbors and colleagues to compete against each other in a season of litter-collection challenges. Every team receives up to 10 Cleanup Kits so that they can collect individually, in groups, or at Tournaments throughout the county.
The 2022 Season begins on Earth Day (April 22nd) and ends on the Summer Solstice (June 21) Winning teams receive prizes from some of the region’s premier environmentally conscious businesses. Registration is open and is limited to 12 teams in each division. Click the button below to learn more. Join a Litter WalkThroughout the year, we work with community partners to organize Neighborhood Litter Walks. These are low-intensity events, excellent for casual adventures with families. At each walk, volunteers follow a local guide for roughly 90 minutes, collecting lightweight litter in public streets and pathways, followed by a social hour at a nearby restaurant or public gathering place. We'll provide all the equipment, you provide the helping hands! Register for an upcoming event or write greg@alleghenycleanways.org to schedule a Litter-Walk in your Neighborhood.
