Melissa is a Pittsburgh native who grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and greenspaces. With a dual background in social work and public health (MSW/MPH), her career has been rooted in community-based, grassroots initiatives, including five years serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. 

As a therapist (LCSW), she knows firsthand how nature helps people find grounding and calm. She brings that perspective to her operational work, building the systems that help ACW empower communities to care for the places they live, work, and play in. Outside of work, you can find her exploring textile crafts like crochet and embroidery, or walking in her neighborhood parks spotting birds, small woodland creatures, and ALL the dogs.
