The PickleUp Recycling Program is a regional recycling initiative in partnership with Allegheny CleanWays and the RePickle Project that allows pickleballs to be recycled instead of dumped in landfills! We'll make sure your cracked, broken, or worn-out pickleballs are recycled properly.
If you’re playing at a court that has our bins (see list below), just drop your broken ball in the bin. It will be collected by a local volunteer and taken to a central collection station. Then, it will be delivered to an industrial recycling center to be shredded and recycled.

Why Pickleballs?
|
Every year, 200 million pickleballs are sold in the U.S. They last for a few months, then they crack, break, or wear out. What happens then?
Pickleballs cannot be put into household recycling, and if they are dumped into a landfill they’ll last for hundreds of years. That results in 5,700 tons of pickleballs going into landfills every year. |
