City of Pittsburgh Services 

Curbside Collection 
Pittsburgh residents have access to the following curbside collection services. Follow the provided links for details on accepted materials and set out standards for each.
 Check here to find your collection day.  

  • Refuse Weekly, includes pick-up of limited bulky items  
  • Recycling Bi-weekly, see Better Recycling, Better Burgh for best practices 
  • Leaf Waste & Yard Debris Twice a year  
  • Electronic & Household Hazardous Waste Year​-round, pick-ups require scheduling in advance with ECS&R

Drop-Off Locations 
City residents can bring their general recycling to the following 6 drop-off locations in addition to items not accepted curbside such as bagged shredded paper, tires, and year-round yard debris. Check

*These locations accept yard waste and tires.  
**These locations are encouraged for the recycling of glass and mixed paper. The separate bins provided for these materials at these locations prevent breakage and contamination and help to ensure more successful recycling.

Contact your municipality for details regarding waste disposal services specific to your area. 
Check here to find your local waste collection service provider. Many municipalities are serviced by Waste Management and can participate in the At Your Door Special Collection.

Consult the ACHD for information on Recycling in Allegheny County. Many municipalities offer general recycling, electronics recycling and household hazardous waste services.
