Partnerships with local watershed groups allow us to work along small streams and creeks throughout the county. Our partnerships range from yearly canoe and kayak cleanups, cleanup assistance, and collaborative education.

Annual Lower Chartiers Creek Canoe and Kayak Cleanup
We partner with Lower Chartiers Watershed Association for our annual canoe and kayak cleanup each fall. Volunteers and staff drop into Chartiers Creek in Crafton and float to McKees Rocks and remove debris such as single use plastics, tires, and other large items from the creek. Our staff assists in providing safety guidelines, expertise, trash removal, and event promotion.

Creek Stomps
Creeks and Streams are often plagued by litter such as single use plastics and other debris. Many of these tributaries are not navigable with boats, which means volunteers need to access it on land to remove trash. Through creek stomps, we can prevent debris from entering our rivers.
