Cleanup Crew Member
Karolina was born and raised in Pittsburgh, half her family coming from Bulgaria. She attended university at the American University of Bulgaria for Journalism and Mass Communication for a couple years, then switched schools and programs to attend Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski for Ecology and Environmental Protection.
While living there, time spent with her paternal grandparents helped her become even more interconnected with the land helping them to care for their chickens and ducks, grow vegetables and fruit, make preserves, wine, and fruit brandy from local harvests.
Working with Allegheny CleanWays as part of the clean up crew is a rewarding, new branch of the journey. In her free time she enjoys native gardening, hiking, yoga, reading and crafting. Karolina's favortie kind of trash is ceramic pieces.
